I started baking at a very young age (about 4) with simple cookie mixes bought from the store, initially I always felt my calling was writing and baking was simply an enjoyable past time. After graduating from University of Michigan with a Bachelor's in writing/editing and Media Production I couldn't find a job in my area. I spent most of my time unemployed baking, and I found that I was becoming really good at it. Finally after 6 months of without a job and over 600 resumes sent nationwide I decided to return to school at The Art Institute Detroit and pursue a Pastry degree.

I consider my specialty to be:
Any type of plated dessert, pastry or other fine dessert that can be decorated and presented with sauces, fruits and frostings. Decorating is by far my favorite aspect of being a pastry professional
