Let's talk about how IN-CRED-IBLE these cookies are! The salty sweet combo is WICKED! They are chewy because of the brown sugar, crispy because of the bacon, and crunchy because of the light sugar coating!

My mouth waters as I type this...I really wish I saved a secret stash of

them. If you are a bacon lover, this recipe will not disappoint. I'm

pretty sure Elvis would have been tickled for a tray full of these!

Vanilla, Like Fine Aged Cognac

One of the most important ingredients in my pantry in "Vanilla." I have a variety of brands that I use (depending on what I am making) and let me start with a disclaimer, I'm not promoting any of them. The selection of vanilla extract you use is like selecting your underwear or deodorant, it is truly a personal thing. What ever happened to Pound Cakes?

I recently took a walk down memory lane and ran across several pound cake recipes that had been passed down from the bakers in my family. Written on tattered pieces of paper and scratched on the inside covers of old cook books were the recipes for brown sugar pound cake, coconut pound cake, sour cream pound cake, sweet potato pound cake and five flavor pound cake to name a few.
