Friday evening I was exhausted after a long week of research and writing and just wanted to lay across my couch and turn into a potato, you know the kind???. My daughter called and said you have to watch this program on CNBC so I flicked over to the channel and what did I see? A number of food innovators telling their stories about “ How I made My Millions
with Kernel Seasons
What is the secret to success? There is no secret, you take a simple idea, something you like, something you have a passion for and turn it into a unique product, a product that is not on the market or one that is better than anything else on the market
This May I was fortunate to meet a number of food entrepreneurs in Atlanta, Georgia showcasing their products at a local Farmer’s Market. They were from all walks of life and they were selling everything from gourmet dog treats
to Indian spices
with a twist. There was a woman selling organic naturally sweetened cake and candy
and baked goods fit for an American President
I really can’t remember all of the people I have run across in my lifetime who had unbelievable innovative food ideas that fell through the cracks, not to mention the ones that just sit on a dusty shelf waiting to be implemented into an unsuspecting success story. Look, not everyone is going to be a food entrepreneur and that's okay because not everyone can work for themselves, there will always be "queen/king bees and worker bees," that's the law of the land, but if you have that drive and passion go for it. I could never say this if I had not experienced it in my own life.
Whatever your product, I challenge you to take a leap of faith.
