Looking for pastry chefs and chefs with tattoos!

Working on a project and looking for pastry chefs and chefs with tattoos. The tattoos do not need to be food related. The more elaborate, the better, however. Contact me if you're interested in sharing info or getting involved yourself. Thanks!!

Hi Tish,
I am a Pastry Chef from Jersey (in Chocolatier Dec, 2004) I have a very cool tatoo of a pastry bag on my back between my shoulders. I am getting another... A pattern with rolling pins around my ankle.

Don't know if you are still on the hunt, but i have a full sleeve in the works. Cupcakes with cross bones, sugar skull coffeecups, measuring spoons, a pastry bag, chef knife, a NSF logo ...lmao.... health dept loves that one. Anyway... just read this blog and it sounds right up my alley! Thanks! Looking forward to seeeing this project complete!

The person on Food Network is Michelle Garcia of Bleeding Heart Bakery in Chicago. I have quite a few and I can say this, it is different for each person. I know people who think it is awful and can't even finish one they had started that was small, for me it is along the lines of annoying, but not painful. Two things to keep in mind if you ever get there....it hurts more on boney areas (rib cage, feet, elbows, etc) than fleshy parts like lower back, shoulders, arms (with exception to inner wrist, elbow) legs, etc. Places with a lot of nerve endings can be strange because they may go slightly numb for a few minutes, or even cause reflex movements (wrists). But, as I said, each person experiences it in a different way. And as for Wendy's comment, I would highly recommend you draw your own or have someone design one to your specifications....you'll regret the one on the wall forever. Trust me on that, anyone I know who has had a pre-drawn tattoo done has either hated it, covered it or removed it. Also, if you think you may ever decide to remove one, DON'T get one...it supposedly hurts a lot worse than actually getting one. And once you get one chances are you get two or three or....I have eight and I've said no more after each one....

I'm too chicken to get a tattoo! (It took me three tries to get my ears pierced). Funny how I can't deal with the thought of getting a tattoo and how much it *could* hurt versus how many times do I burn myself and that has to hurt a lot worse, right?! There's a Food Network Cake Challenge show featuring a woman who has a lot of visible tattoos on her neck and all I can think of is: "how much did that hurt?!"

I'd love to know how other people overcame that fear. Then I'd have Wendy's problem - I couldn't commit to an image for a lifetime, either.

I have 8 tattoos and still want more. I am in the middle of designing a tattoo to reflect being a pastry chef. If you have any ideas i would love to hear them.

My Catering company, Jo Foody's, has a red chef's hat over the"O" in Foody. I have it tatooed on my left shoulder with crossed knives behind it. I want a second one - probably chocolate related, just can't decide what and where!
